About online care
Is Vela an online clinic?
Yes. Vela is an online-only clinic focused on medical weight care. Treatment availability depends on provider licensure in your state.
Will I need to visit a physical location?
The care experience is online. A provider may still determine that an in-person examination, laboratory testing, urgent evaluation, or care from another clinician is needed.
Who reviews my information?
A licensed provider reviews your information before making any treatment recommendation.
About treatment
Am I guaranteed a prescription?
No. Intake starts a clinical evaluation. A provider may recommend a treatment, request more information, suggest a different path, or determine that online treatment is not appropriate.
Can I choose a product?
You can share preferences and questions, but the provider is responsible for determining whether any option is clinically appropriate.
Are semaglutide and tirzepatide the same?
No. Semaglutide acts on GLP-1 receptors. Tirzepatide acts on both GIP and GLP-1 receptors. They also exist in products with different approved uses.
Are NAD+ and sermorelin weight-loss medications?
They should not be presented as equivalent to medicines specifically used for chronic weight management. Their roles, evidence, formulations, and risks are different and need separate clinical consideration.
About the experience
What does care cost?
You will see what fees include, whether medication is separate, and any other expected costs before accepting a treatment plan.
Does Vela accept insurance?
Coverage varies by plan and treatment. Any insurance or self-pay details that apply to your care will be explained before you proceed.
How will medication be delivered?
If medication is prescribed, dispensing, shipping availability, and expected timing will be explained before treatment begins.
Where will I manage my care?
Your patient portal provides one place for intake, care information, and account access.
